heartbreak, old friend, goodbye it's me again [userpic]

True fact: Oreo Pizza from Domino's is pretty damn good in a my-God-this-isn't-really-food way.

Also true fact: Eastern Promises is even better the second time around.

And because it's after one a.m. and I can't sleep yet, here, a meme. Gacked most recently from [info]amandazillah but also seen across my flist. I'm a bit surprised by the number of bolded books. I guess the M.Ed. in English did pay off some.

However, I still hate James Joyce (with the exception of the Dubliners--sorry, [info]isoldest, love) and I loathe Thomas Hardy. Also I am sad that my two favourite lit novels (Kafka's The Metamorphosis and Other Stories and Dostoevsky's The Adolescent) didn't make the list. *sniffle* Also of note is the fact that I absolutely and totally despise Wuthering Heights but I love Jane Eyre so much I've read it more times than I can count. (Yay, Charlotte, boo, Emily--another true fact, I once had a cat named Bronte when I was in high school.) And I think I'm the only person alive who actually likes The Scarlet Letter. Then again, I adore Hawthorne and his Puritan guilt, 'cause, hi, yeah, I get where you're coming from, Nathaniel, honey.

These are the top 106 books most often marked as "unread" by LibraryThing's users (as of today). As usual, bold what you have read, italicise that you started but couldn't finish, and strike through what you couldn't stand. Add an asterisk* to those you've read more than once. Underline those on your to-read list.
