Things what make me happy tonight.

Because it's been a seriously blech week...here's some happy.

  • Old 97s and Rhett Miller. I love this boy so damn much.

And I love this band so damn much.

Old 97's Blame It On Gravity Electronic Press Kit

And I cannot wait until this album is released in six weeks.

Here. HAVE A SINGLE FROM IT.

Dance With Me - Old 97's

And last week Rhett gave an interview on KUT in Austin in which he played a few songs off the new album (and one acoustic version of one of my favourite older Old 97s tunes). GUESS WHO RIPPED THEM? That's right. Here. Have these too.

Dance With Me (solo) - Rhett Miller
No Baby I - Rhett Miller
My Two Feet - Rhett Miller
Here's To The Halcyon - Rhett Miller (note: I think this is the name of this song...he doesn't say in the interview and I'm going based on a tracklisting I have and a faint memory of him possibly playing this at a concert. If/when I discover it's the wrong name, I'll fix it...)
Salome (acoustic cover) - Rhett Miller

If you want the entire 25-minute interview, I've uploaded an mp3 of it here.

Seriously, the amount of sheer love and adoration I have for the Old 97's cannot be adequately expressed. I love these boys. They've kept me sane over the past few years, and I am going to implode before this album comes out. . I'm not joking. IMPLODE. The squee levels are already building to phenomenal levels. And I swear to God if they only tour in the Southwest/Midwest/West Coast this June I am going to cry. I need to see them again. Really. I need to. Not to be over-dramatic, but this band is like breathing for me...the Old 97's and Van Morrison. I cannot live without either one of them.

  • This Wolfram/Yuuri magazine cover. It's the hands. Oh, the hands.

  • These translated scenes from the fourth KKM novel.

  • The two smutty yaoi manga and one smutty yaoi novel I bought tonight. I really shouldn't be allowed in Tokyo Kid. Seriously. I mean that.

  • Pete Wentz. Pfft on all the haters. He'll always have a squooshy place in my heart.

  • Channeling my inner two-year-old for Lily Granger Weasley.
